Meet Our Team

Co-Founder - Ashley Hooker, MS, LPC -

Ashley J. Hooker completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Pfeiffer University in 2010. She graduated from Bellevue University with a Master of Science degree in Clinical Counseling. Ashley has seven years of professional counseling experience as well as seven years of experience working with at-risk youth, juvenile, and adults in the criminal justice system. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of North Carolina. Ashley is a certified Trauma Focused CBT therapist and specializes in working with adolescents, adults, and families. She utilizes an existential theoretical orientation which includes Cognitive Behavioral and Person Centered Therapy. Ashley believes that anyone and everyone can benefit from an individual, personalized therapeutic counseling experience. Ashley's pastimes include traveling, writing, and spending quality time with her son.

Co- Founder - Monica McNeill, MA, LPC

Monica graduated from Winston-Salem State University with a bachelor’s degree in Communications and obtained my Master’s degree in Community Counseling from Argosy University-Atlanta. She has 10 years of professional counseling experience and believes that relationships are the most powerful factor in promoting happiness, growth, and fulfillment, while also acknowledging that relationships can cause some of our most profound pain. She works with couples, individuals, and families and specializes in helping women of color find their true voice while living the lives they were born to live. Monica combines warmth and empathy with great skill in addressing the complex challenges of life and relationship. She enjoys traveling, reading, and gardening in her spare time.
Leanna Smith, MS, LCMHC, LCAS-A
Leanna graduated from Central Michigan University with a B.S in Sociology with a concentration in Criminal Justice in 2006.  She completed her Masters in Mental Health Counseling in 2017 from Capella University.  Her work experience includes substance abuse treatment, community mental health, (including individual/family counseling), as well as substance abuse group treatment.  She currently has four years of counseling experience.  She’s worked with children, families and adults in individual outpatient settings as well as in family settings.  She also has experience working with adults in groups as well as youth in groups.  Leanna believes that every living individual has all the necessary tools already within them to overcome any obstacle that life presents.  As a result of this belief, she provides therapeutic processes centered on individual needs and strengths.  In addition to using a person-centered approach, a high degree of cognitive behavioral integration is also utilized in Leanna’s practice.  Leanna encourages all of her clients to remember that no matter what they may be going through, it will be a memory one day!  Stay positive!
Hattie Williams, MA, LCMHC
Hattie Williams, Hattie graduated from Mercy College, Dobbs Ferry, New York with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology. She obtained a Master degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University, Lynchburg Virginia, and she has over 20 years of experience working in the mental health field. During her practicum and Internship experiences, she counseled culturally diverse populations and individuals of all ages in a variety of treatment settings, both public and private in Charlotte North Carolina and Rock Hill South Carolina. She has provided treatment to individuals in psychiatric hospital settings and has experience counseling in group settings. She is currently pursuing full licensure under supervision of Natasha Todd- Pemberton, LPCS.  Hattie believes that each individual has the ability to reach his or her full potential. She uses an eclectic approach to counseling; however, her theory of choice is Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT). She strongly believes that what we think has a major impact on what we become.   Hattie enjoys traveling, bowling and reading.
